Inhome Services For Families

We listen to the mental health needs of clients and their families and work with today's complex healthcare system to access every available service. We provide compassionate, high quality, in-home consultation to adolescents, adults, and elders.

Families, individuals, and couples are in constant change and transition and all families have conflict. We believe that, with intervention, change can be influenced in a positive direction towards greater health and wholeness. We help clients to learn skills to meet present and future challenges in a more effective way.

We offer in-home short-term, solution focused interventions, education and support to get people connected to mental health services (while increasing understanding of mental health and how it impacts an individual). Areas of evaluation expertise include depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, mood disorders, substance abuse, geriatric psychiatry, PTSD.

We offer two primary inhome services:

Parent/Teen Mediation

Assessment, Intervention, & Referral Services

While not to be read as a mutually exclusive menu, families may consider contacting us for the above two services when facing some of the below life events.

Family Strengthening and Support
The intervention is aimed at maximizing the functioning and coping abilities of individuals and their families. The consultant will be interested in what causes problems in your family system, the evolving effects of problems on your family over time, and ways to form collaborative empowering family relationships.
  • We provide individual and family support and education around onset / reoccurrence of mental illness and addiction.
Divorce Support
Provides support and offers coping strategies to adults and adolescents adjusting to divorce and/or separation.
  • Mediated "Civility" Agreements to establish boundaries to avoid undermining the relationship a child has with the other parent and to foster a definition of the ongoing relationship between the adults after divorce/separation.
  • Post-Divorce conflict resolution surrounding shared resources, planning for your child(ren).
Parenting Support & Coaching
This intervention works with parents and adolescents to identify problem patterns, make suggestions for alternative strategies of interacting and make recommendations when needed for ongoing therapy.
  • Parent-Teen Mediation
  • Blending/Blended Families Support
Aging Parents & Eldercare
Adult children are often faced with caring for aging parents and becoming active on their behalf regarding healthcare and housing decisions. We offer support, education, and parent and/or sibling mediation as needed so care can be arranged in the most supportive manner.
  • Sibling mediation/support around elder independence and guardianships.
  • Eldercare Advocacy in Nursing Homes and/or Assisted Living Facilities.
Bereavement Support & Referral
The loss of a loved one whether sudden or expected can cause distress and depression in a family. Understanding grief and being able to talk about the loss can allow the family to move toward a place of health and healing.
  • Individual and family support, assessment and referral.
Addiction
Addiction can touch the life of any family, of any race and any socioeconomic category. Getting help with accessing services in a timely manner can be crucial for some individuals who have made a decision to seek treatment. Intraspectus can assist individuals with accessing appropriate services.
  • Substance Abuse Evaluation and Referral
  • Motivational Interviewing
  • Post-detoxification Planning
Advocacy
The saying "the squeaky wheel gets the oil" is quite true in both the healthcare and educational settings. Intraspectus can work on the behalf of you or your family member to secure the treatment or services they require. Creative, persuasive, and persistent advocacy takes time and energy a family may not be able or interested to muster during times of family crisis or distress. Our clinical staff are skilled and persistent advocates and will work diligently to help secure services for your family.
  • Healthcare Access Advocacy
  • Educational Advocacy
